Of all the creatures of Urth, only the Unicorns seem unimpeded by the Gray, those areas of formless Chaos which separate the lands of Urth, one from another.  Often called “Graystriders” Unicorns are known to cross the Gray in but a few seconds at a full gallop, then emerge unscathed upon a farther shore.  Rare and beautiful to behold, the singular magic of the Unicorns, said to be a property of their horns, makes them widely hunted by those with evil aims.
