Might is only right when in service to the good.  A knight, first distinguished in battle, just and righteous, never fearing any peril to their own lives in defense of the innocent and the pure; such a warrior may in time be called upon to perform the highest level of service to the Host.  These few are anointed as Paladins.  Let lawbreakers and those of evil heart beware the coming of their swords
